What this assumes:
  • The preset amounts above already include 13% sales tax and a 15% tip — the minimum most Canadian debit machines default to these days — not just the menu price. Tax rates vary by province, so treat these as rough estimates, not exact for every location.
  • We subtract about $0.50/day for what a home-brewed coffee would cost you instead — that's the actual amount modeled as going to work for you, not the full shop price.
